Michael Reedy is a leading authority on the anti-SLAPP suit statute, which is designed to protect exercise of the rights of free speech and petition. He has successfully handled more than a dozen cases involving this statute, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in trial courts and on appeal. He has also appeared as a speaker on several panels discussing the nature and evolution of the anti-SLAPP suit law.
Reedy consistently demonstrates an ability to get to the bottom of complex issues and to present a compelling case for his clients. He helps clients understand their options and maximizes their prospects of prevailing.
Reedy represents plaintiffs in lawsuits against government entities, to ensure compliance with existing laws or to protect persons who have been treated unfairly, most prominently in connection with the new San Jose City Hall. In addition, Reedy has experience and expertise with appellate matters, family law, restraining orders and professional licensing.
